Network News 04/2018: New working groups and partnership with In(3D)ustry

Our net­work has grown again and we look for­ward to working with the new mem­bers:
The Swe­dish sta­te rail­way “Sta­tens Järn­vä­gar” is respon­si­ble for Swe­dish long-distan­ce trans­port and would like to work toge­ther on addi­ti­ve solu­ti­ons for rail trans­port.

The Ber­lin-based com­pa­ny has deve­lo­ped the 3DMP pro­cess, in which near-con­tour blanks are “prin­ted” using the arc wel­ding pro­cess in order to shor­ten mil­ling times and redu­ce mate­ri­al con­sump­ti­on.

Foun­ded in 1894, the Ham­burg-based tra­ding com­pa­ny for che­mi­cal and mine­ral spe­cial­ties now sells its mate­ri­als world­wi­de, for examp­le in the plastics and rub­ber indus­try, as well as various mate­ri­als for addi­ti­ve pro­duc­tion.

The Chair of Inte­gra­ti­ve Simu­la­ti­ons and Engi­nee­ring of Mate­ri­als and Pro­ces­ses was crea­ted at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bre­men in 2009 and focu­ses on the deve­lop­ment and opti­mi­za­ti­on of new manu­fac­tu­ring pro­ces­ses and mate­ri­als using nume­ri­cal simu­la­ti­on and ana­ly­sis.
