Additive Inspirations #6

Radically innovative construction – buildings powered by Rocket Science

Due to Corona, digital technologies are in greater demand than ever before: aviation and automotive markets have suffered severely from the crisis, new jobs for 3D printing machines have to be identified to fill capacities, while operators try to compensate for supply bottlenecks with 3D printing. Additive Manufacturing is in search of new impulses for its market.

As a virtual teaser to the MGA Annual Meeting 2020, we started a new online webinar series to keep our network connected. In exciting presentations, we highlighted recent practical examples and gave impulses as to the segments in which Additive Manufacturing can apply and expand its potential.

On January 21 we restarted this format with Prof. Dr. Jens Kurreck of the Technische Universität Berlin in a session on The Veggie Way: 3d printing prevents animal testing. Prof. Dr. Kurreck gave an insight into bioprinting of liver and lung models by pneumatic extrusion, the use of bio printed organ models in infection biology, cancer studies on bio printed organ models and the bioprinting initiatives in Berlin.

Now we would once again like to invite you to our next Additive Inspirations Session on March 25 at 14.00 CET. Bruno Knychalla, Managing Director of Additive Tectonics GmbH, will be our guest for this session on: “Radically innovative construction – buildings powered by Rocket Science”.

We are happy to learn about how innovative simulation and design strategies can decisively shape the built world of tomorrow through the latest possibilities in additive manufacturing. The talk will show how such technologies are being applied across disciplines to produce not only extremely performant, but also sustainable and stunning architecture. Groundbreaking developments in the field of 3D printing in concrete, artificial stone and other building materials of Additiv Tectonics GmbH will be shown and explained.
